Rice To Honor International Victims of September 11 Attacks, September 9, 2006(Secretary also will travel to Nova Scotia to underscore U.S.-Canadian friendship)
Washington -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will honor the citizens from other nations who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks at a remembrance ceremony to be held at the State Department on September 11, 2006.
Following the ceremony, Rice will travel to Nova Scotia, Canada, where she will visit Halifax and Stellarton, accompanied by Canadian Foreign Minister Peter MacKay.
In addition to marking the fifth anniversary of the attacks, the Canadian trip will underscore the friendship between the United States and Canada as well as their shared values and commitment to working as partners on a wide range of issues, according to the State Department.
