Applications for the Fulbright BEST Program are now being accepted
Fulbright BEST promotes innovative entrepreneurship among the young generations of scientists, offering a formative opportunity in the United States. Now in its fifth edition, those who would like to introduce innovation in the market through the creation of a start up and have already fine-tuned a promising entrepreneurial idea may participate in the program. The selected candidates will receive a $35,000 scholarship to attend a course in innovative entrepreneurship for the duration of up to one year in an American university and to take part in an internship at a start up with a high growth potential. The deadline for applications is February 29, 2012.

Until now 46 young people have participated in the pilot program and have had a six-month full immersion experience in Silicon Valley. Twenty-two of them have already undertaken entrepreneurial careers, launching successful companies in Italy and abroad. Among these are Bioecopest, D-Orbi, Smart Oil Ltd, and Cellek Bioteck AG. Fulbright BEST is promoted and supported by the US Embassy in Rome and is carried out by the Italy US Fulbright Commission and by the BEST Steering Committee. Poste Italiane, Enel Green Power, Mediaset, AmgemDompé, Booz & co., Generali, Farmindustria, Imast, Regione Toscana and Comune di Milano are among the companies and institutions which have supported the program.
