"Joining the Fight Against Modern-Day Slavery" - A Seminar on Trafficking in Persons
Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Centro Studi Americani, Rome, Italy
In light of a shared moral responsibility to help the millions of people who are bought, sold, transported and held against their will in slave-like conditions, Joining the Fight Against Modern-Day Slavery will bring the U.S. government's lead expert on the issue together with representatives of faith-based organizations, the Italian government and non-governmental organizations to analyze some of the root causes of trafficking in persons. Through sharing best practices and personal experience, this seminar will propose avenues for expanded cooperation in the fight against this scourge in Italy and beyond.
