U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

The Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Rome District Office is responsible for providing services and conducting liaison activities in 126 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Near Asia, and the Former Soviet Union.

Its jurisdiction includes USCIS Suboffices in the following locations:
Accra, Ghana; Athens, Greece; Frankfurt, Germany; Johannesburg, South Africa; London, United Kingdom; Moscow, Russia; Nairobi, Kenya and Vienna, Austria.

The Rome District Office has direct jurisdiction for USCIS immigration matters in the following locations:
Italy, Algeria, Andorra, France, Gibraltar, Holy See, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Monaco, Morocco, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Tunisia, and Western Sahara.

The USCIS Rome District Office is located in the Consular Building at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, on the corner of Via Veneto and Via Boncompagni.

Important Security Announcement

Please do not bring mobile phones or any electronic devices, such as Blackberries, iPods, or PDAs as they are not allowed within the Embassy or Consulates General. We also strongly advise that you do not bring strollers, large bags, such as backpacks, suitcases or packages to the interview as there are no storage facilities on the grounds of our facilities.

Only person(s) seeking consular services will be admitted into the Embassy or Consulates General. Exceptions will be made only if those seeking consular services are under 18, or if they are disabled and require assistance.

Applicants who do not follow these instructions will experience considerable delays at the security check point.

— Appointments —

Appointments can be made via the internet at www.infopass.uscis.gov. Choose your country of residence under the list of countries rather than entering a zipcode. This will allow you to select an appointment the appropriate USCIS office. Please bring a printout of your InfoPass appointment letter and a photo ID to the appointment.

— Fees and Payment —

Fee amounts for applications and petitions are listed on our Forms, Fees and Filing Locations Chart.
The fees for all applications and petitions submitted to this office must be paid:
• in cash with either U.S. dollars or Euro only if the application is filed in person at the U.S. Embassy in Rome; or
• by a cashier’s check or money order in U.S. Dollars, made payable to the U.S. Embassy Rome, issued by any bank with a U.S. affiliation or by a U.S. military Post Office facility.
