Office of the Defense Attaché

The Defense Attaché develops military-to-military relationships with the Italian Armed Forces, provides advice on military matters to the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, and represents the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the U.S. military services in the Republic of Italy.

The DAO also assists the Armed Forces of the Republic of Italy with bilateral programs to help modernize systems and improve interoperability with NATO.
