Emergency Transfer Of Funds

There are several ways to transfer funds to a U.S. Citizen abroad in an emergency situation.
General information is available on the "Emergency Financial Assistance for U.S. Citizens Abroad" webpage on the "travel.state.gov" website.

Transfer Of Funds to Italy via Western Union

The person wiring funds should call Western Union in the U.S. at 1-800-325-6000 and provide credit card information for the transfer. Please note that your relative/friend in the U.S. will be charged a fee for the transfer. The fee depends on the amount of money sent. You cannot do Western Union transactions by phone or the Internet in Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Massachussets, New York, and Oklahoma.

NOTE: To verify the transfer of funds and for further information (e.g.: ID requirements) please call the Western Union's toll-free number in Italy 800-464-464 or 800-220-055.
